Terms of Service

Last updated October 22, 2026

Playtest notice: Bonn Chance currently runs with play money only. No real money is charged or paid out until real-money prize pools are switched on with our payments partner. These terms already describe how they will work.

These terms are an agreement between you and Bonn Chance ("we", "us") about your use of Bonn Chance, a party game you play in a mobile web browser. By hosting or joining a game you accept these terms. When a host puts up a pool and when a guest accepts the House Rules or confirms their age, we keep a record of that acceptance (which version, and when) on our servers.

1. What Bonn Chance is

One person, the host, sets up a table and may put up a prize pool as a gift for their guests, instead of buying a present. Guests play for free on their phones. Each guest gets a hidden ticket; during the game they can keep or swap tickets and may take a fixed early-exit offer. At the end, the whole prize pool is shared among the guests according to the result shown at the reveal.

2. Free for guests

  • Guests never pay to join, play or win. No purchase, deposit or entry fee is required, and none is ever accepted.
  • A host may not ask guests to pay anything to take part, inside the app or outside it (for example "everyone chips in $5"), and may not use Bonn Chance to run bets between guests.

3. The host's prize pool is a gift

  • The host funds the pool for the benefit of the guests. The host cannot win any part of it, cannot take a seat as a guest at their own table, and cannot decide or change who receives a prize.
  • A pool can be from $25 to $500.
  • 100% of the pool goes to guests. We do not keep any part of the pool. Winners receive exactly the amount shown at the reveal. The host pays the payment provider's fees (card processing and prize delivery) on top of the pool: the total is shown on the button before paying, and fees are never taken from the pool or from a prize. Prize delivery is charged as an estimate for the most prizes the table can have; the part no prize uses comes back to the host as unused fee. That is fee money only: the pool itself never comes back.
  • The host can cancel and get the pool back in full until the game starts. Once the deal begins, the gift is final and the pool will be distributed to guests under these rules. See the Refund Policy.
  • Hosts should pay with a debit card. Some card issuers treat this kind of payment from a credit card as a cash advance, with their own fees.

4. Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 to host a game with a prize pool or to collect a prize. A host confirms it when accepting the host terms, before putting in the pool or promising to pay. Before collecting, each winner confirms "I'm 18 or older" in the app, and the payments provider may verify it. Anyone may play; a prize cannot be paid to someone under 18.
  • Prize pools are available to residents of the United States only. They are void where prohibited or restricted by law.

5. Claiming a prize

  • Prize payments are handled by our third-party payments provider, under its own terms. Between the host's payment and the payouts, the pool is held by the provider in an account opened for Bonn Chance, and is used only to pay that table's winners.
  • If the host chose to pay winners themselves (for example on Venmo), the host sends each prize directly and marks it paid in the app; the winner can then confirm it arrived or report that it did not. We do not move that money.
  • Before your first payout the provider must verify your identity (for example name, address, date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number). This is required by anti-money-laundering law.
  • You can choose an available payout method, such as Venmo, a debit card or a bank account. Speeds and availability depend on the method and the provider.
  • Please claim within 30 days of the reveal. Your claim screen shows the date. You can leave an email or a US mobile number on your claim screen so we can remind you; it is optional, used only for that prize, and never shown to the host. (In this playtest no reminder is actually sent.) A prize not claimed within 30 days stays yours. You can still claim it in the app; after the period set by your state's unclaimed-property law, it is reported and delivered to the state as that law requires. It is never returned to the host or kept by Bonn Chance.
  • You are responsible for any taxes on prizes you receive.

6. Fair play

  • Do not cheat, use more than one seat, share your seat, automate play, or try to interfere with the game or the service. A host's browser is refused a guest seat at its own table.
  • We may cancel a game, void a result or withhold a payout when we reasonably believe there was fraud, abuse or a technical error. If a game is voided before the reveal, the host's pool is refunded.

7. Your content and conduct

Keep nicknames and reactions friendly and lawful. We may remove content or block players who harass others or break these terms.

8. The service

  • Bonn Chance is provided "as is". We work to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free.
  • To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits the prize you are owed under the game rules.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you before it applies to a new game. These terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state where Bonn Chance is organized and by applicable U.S. federal law.
