Privacy Policy
Playtest notice: Bonn Chance currently runs with play money only. No real money is charged or paid out until real-money prize pools are switched on with our payments partner. These terms already describe how they will work.
This policy explains what Bonn Chance collects when you use Bonn Chance, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as a party game needs.
What we collect
- Game data: the nickname and first name you enter, your seat, your moves, reactions and results.
- Session data: a random session token stored in your browser so you can rejoin your seat, plus basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and debugging.
- What you agreed to: when a host accepts the host terms, or a guest accepts the House Rules or confirms they are 18 or older, we keep which version, when, and a one-way fingerprint (hash) of the browser type. No IP address is kept with it. It is our record if a payment is disputed.
- Payout details you give us: for example a Venmo username. The host of your game can see it so they can pay you; other guests cannot.
- Payments and identity checks: card details, bank details and identity verification are collected and processed by our payments provider, not stored by us. We receive only what we need to run the game, such as the payment status and the payout status.
How we use it
- To run games, show results and distribute prize pools.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
- To answer support requests and improve the game.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
- Other players at your table see your nickname, reactions and, after the reveal, the results.
- Our payments provider, to process the host's payment and your payout.
- Service providers that host the app and its database, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Game data is kept while it is needed to run the game and settle prizes, and then for as long as required for accounting, legal or fraud-prevention purposes. Session tokens stay in your browser until you clear them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information once our support inbox opens (before real-money pools do). Depending on your state (for example California), you may have additional rights. We will not treat you differently for using them. Records we must keep by law will be kept.
Children
Bonn Chance is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. You must be 18 or older to host a prize pool or claim a prize.
Security
We use encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your session link private.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
